Döner rice

Döner literally means Rotating Roast which is made out of stacked lamb meat. This dish can be easily made in Germany or Turkey since this is easily available here. In India they are available as kebabs.


  • Döner  – 250 gms
  • Peas- 50 gms
  • Onions- 2 medium sized
  • Tomato puree- 1 cup
  • Mustard-1 tsp
  • Jeera- 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds- 1tsp
  • Butter- to taste (start from 1 tablespoon)
  • Salt- to taste
  • Hyderabadi biriyani masala-2 tablespoon
  • Garam masala- 1tablespoon
  • Water- 1 cup
  • Lemon juice- 3-4 drops


Add oil in a deep pan and once the oil gets heated add the mustard, jeera and cumin seeds. Then add the onions and fry till golden brown. Then add the tomato puree into the mixture and fry it with a closed lid at medium heat until the oil starts oozing from the mixture. Add the biriyani masala, garma massla and add the peas and the döner and fry. Add salt to taste and heat for 10 minutes. Then add the rice and fry the entire mixture for 5 to 8 minutes.  Sprinkle drops of lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.


Egg can be added to this dish to make it more tasty and can be eaten with curd.The remaining doner mixture can be added with egg and a döner egg is ready!!
